Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, our regular rehearsal venue, reopened for in-person meetings in March 2021, requiring attendees to wear masks and remain socially-distanced.  That allowed in-person rehearsals to return to the church.  Co-Directors Tim Beutel and Terry Ludwig received awards from the chapter to recognize their extra efforts that kept the chorus together during the pandemic.

During the remainder of 2021, the directors continued Zoom broadcast of our rehearsals for members unwilling or unable to return to in-person gatherings.  Early attendance was around 30 and closed the year with more than 40 attending regularly.  Prior to COVID, attendance ran between 60 and 70 men each week.

On Dec. 4, 2021, the Sound of Illinois performed holiday music at Christmas Under the Dome at the McLean County Museum of History.  Because of the pandemic, the group sang around the second-floor balcony in the rotunda, rather than a concert-style performance in the old courtroom where the group had performed for every Christmas in the Courthouse  sponsored by the Museum since inception of the community program.
